Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer hailing from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The first single, Pho which was released on 21 October 2016 was released via Dreamville Records. She began to gain notoriety. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out in May 2019. Ari Lennox published her first music on the internet in 2012. She dropped five singles in 2013 and Five Finger Discount in 2013 and Ariography EP in 2013. She continued to upload her songs online throughout 2014 and released her own single Bound. Her music was also featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes which was released from Sweat It Out, on July 21, 2015. Her music was circulating around the Dreamville team, as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some possible references for Rihanna. The 8th of December was the day she reported that she had hired by Dreamville Records. On the release album Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the track Backseat, along with Cozz. In October 2016 the singer-songwriter released her debut EP Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song, and performed on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she was featured in two tracks with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas' Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on September 5. The 9th of November saw her release two additional singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. And on the 13th of November she dropped two more singles titled No One as well as Pdigree. She appeared with Cole on the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on the 16th of November, and made the track available in a solo version for her debut album. The music video premiered on the 20th of February to accompany the track. Within the first week, the video had more than 3,000,000 views. In December 2018 she performed on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
